Hur länge räcker raketbränslet? Brummerfond levererar – igen!

Stockholm (HedgeNordic.com) – Snart räcker inte superlativen till för att beskriva den utveckling som Brummers amerikanska tech-fond Manticore just nu levererar. Redan efter augusti månads uppgång (+4,1%) beskrev vi den raketartade uppgångsperiod som fonden uppenbarligen är inne i. September blev inget undantag och förvaltarna kunde rapportera ännu ett otrolig månadsresultat: +6,0%, vilket gör att resultatet för 2013 nu lyfter till smått fantastiska 31,6%. Av årets uppgång har mer än 20 procentenheter skapats under de senaste fem månaderna.

Manticore är en så kallad TMT-fond, det vill säga fokuserad inom teknologi, media och telekom. Efter IT-kraschen har denna kategori av branchfonder varit en minskande grupp, men Manticore har verkligen visat sitt existensberättigande efter flera år av goda förvaltningsresultat.

Till skillnad från vissa andra ”lång/kort”-aktiehedgefonder så arbetar förvaltarna inom Manticore aktivt med sin korta portfölj – som också historiskt genererat bra bidrag till avkastningen – för att hitta övervärderade bolag att gå kort i.

Fonden har under året varit en väsentlig bidragsgivare till avkastningen i Brummer Multi-Strategy, när övriga Brummerfonder inte riktigt nått upp till historiska avkastningsnivåer.
Från den 1 november 2011 förvaltas fonden helt och hållet från USA, efter att den svenska delen av teamet lämnade verksamheten. Därefter har avkastningen fortsatt att accelerera.

Frågan är nu bara – hur många månader till räcker raketbränslet..?
