Två svenskar på topplistan när Bloomberg rankar världens 100 bästa hedgefonder

Stockholm (HedgeFonder.nu) – När affärstidskriften Bloomberg Markets i sitt kommande februari-nummer rankar världens 100 bästa hedgefonder 2012 lyckas två svenska fondförvaltare leta sig in på listan för fonder över 1 miljard USD: Cevian Capital II och Brummer-fonden Zenit.

Christer Gardells fond Cevian lyckades inta en hedrande 29:e plats, medan Brummer & Partners ursprungsfond Zenit återfinns på plats 64. Detta under ett år då hedgefonder i allmänhet, enligt Bloomberg Markets, hade det besvärligt att leverera det investerarna efterfrågar, nämligen stabil och okorrelerad avkastning. Svårigheterna för förvaltarna återspeglas också i det faktum att hela 635 fonder stängde under första nio månaderna av 2012.

I toppen på listan placerar sig Metacapital Managements kredithedgefond Meta Mortgage Opportunities Fund, under ledning av Deepak Narula, som genererade 38% under första 10 månaderna 2012. Det är tydligt vid en närmare granskning av listan att kreditstrategier är ett dominerande inslag bland topplaceringarna.

Meta Mortgage har dock inte lyckats enbart under föregående år, utan steg även året innan med 24% och har sammanlagt gått upp med 520% sedan starten strax innan Lehman-kraschen i juli 2008.

Cevian Capital II blev bästa svensk på listan, efter en uppgång på 16,8%. Zenits resultat blev 11,8%.

Bloomberg Hedge Fund Index steg 1,3% för året, efter att året innan ha förlorat 4,4%.
