Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – After ten years at Nykredit, Head of Wealth Management Peter Kjærgaard will take over the role of CEO at Formuepleje in January 2023. Kjærgaard will replace Niels B. Thuesen, who is resigning from the CEO role at Denmark’s largest bank-independent asset manager effective immediately.

“I am very pleased to have Peter and his extensive experience at Formuepleje,” Kirstine Damkjær, chairman of the board at Formuepleje, comments on Kjærgaard’s appointment as CEO. “Formuepleje is today Denmark’s largest bank-independent private asset manager and together with our shareholders we have renewed ambitions to grow our business for the benefit of our customers and shareholders,” she adds. “Peter is the right person to set the direction and realize our potential for long-term growth.”

Peter Kjærgaard joins Formuepleje from Nykredit, where most recently he served as Head of Wealth Management. He also served as Co-Head and Chief Investment Officer at Nykredit for seven and a half years. Before Nykredit, Kjærgaard worked at RBS in London for more than five years, and as Head of FIG Nordics at BNP Paribas for four years.

“I look forward to being at the head of Formuepleje and together with the team, create a powerful player within the wealth and investment area.”

“I look forward to being at the head of Formuepleje and together with the team, create a powerful player within the wealth and investment area,” says Peter Kjærgaard, the incoming CEO of Formuepleje. “With its size, its independence and its strong value base, Formuepleje has a good starting point to win the battle for customers in a changing market,” he continues. With Niels Thuesen resigning effective immediately, the current directors of Formuepleje, Henry Høeg and Søren Astrup, will share the position of acting CEO until Kjærgaard takes over.

“I would like to thank Niels for his great commitment to Formuepleje,” comments Kirstine Damkjær. “For the past 10 years, he has run and developed Formuepleje into the successful company it is today, and we cannot thank Niels enough for that.”
