Per Johansson Starts as Celina CIO

Latest Report

This year’s Alternative Fixed Income report from HedgeNordic explores how institutional investors and asset managers are navigating this new reality, balancing yield and resilience amid shifting credit cycles, structural change, and evolving sources of return.

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Bodenholm founder Per Johansson takes on the role of Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of what is now called Celina Fondförvaltning, formely Catella Fondförvaltning, as of February 28. He will also be part of the team managing Celina’s flagship hedge fund, Catella Hedgefond, and equity funds Catella Småbolagsfond and Catella Sverige Aktiv Hållbarhet.

“We are very happy to be able to strengthen the administration with a competent and experienced colleague,” comments Fredric Calles, the CEO of Catella Fondförvaltning. “We wish Per a warm welcome to Celina Fondförvaltning.” As announced in early February, Per Johansson and his team at Boden Capital were set to join Celina Fondförvaltning, Catella’s fund management business acquired by Swedish investment company Athanase Industrial Partner.

“We are very happy to be able to strengthen the administration with a competent and experienced colleague. We wish Per a warm welcome to Celina Fondförvaltning.”

Johansson will join Anders Wennberg and Stefan Wigstrand in managing Catella Hedgefond, which has seen its assets under management fall below SEK 2 billion in 2022 from over SEK 15 billion in 2016. Although Catella Hedgefond has delivered a close to zero return over the previous five years, the low-risk hedge fund has still manage to achieve an annualized return of 3.7 percent since launching in early 2004. Johansson will also manage equity funds Catella Småbolagsfond and Catella Sverige Aktiv Hållbarhet alongside Martin Nilsson and Anders Wennberg. Sven Thorén is leaving Celina Fondförvaltning in connection with the changes.

Per Johansson founded hedge fund boutique Bodenholm Capital in 2015 in partnership with Brummer & Partners. In early 2020, the Stockholm-based hedge fund manager announced the decision to return capital to investors and liquidate its Europe-focused fundamental equity long/short funds. Johansson and a select group of former Bodenhom employees, including Bodenholm’s former CEO Erik Orving, joined forces to launch Boden Capital in late 2020. Johansson and the Boden team have now joined Celina Fondförvaltning.
