Revansch för CTA/Trendföljande hedgefonder

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – En av de hedgefondstrategier som har haft svårast att skapa en uthållig avkastning under de senaste åren är CTA/trendföljande fonder. De historiska mönstren omkullkastades när centralbanker började intervenera på ränte- och valutamarknaderna i massiv skala, vilket stökade till det för de matematiska algoritmerna som fonderna förvaltas utifrån.

Men i år verkar stjärnorna stå rätt för många trendfonder. Flera av dem redovisar återigen goda resultat under innevarande år.

I en ranking av bästa hedgefonder i år, gjord av Fondmarknaden.se, återfinner vi sex CTA/trendfonder bland de 10 bästa. De svenska förvaltarna Lynx (inom Brummer & Partners), samt SEB Asset Selection, är med på listan med två varianter av sina respektive fonder. Vi återfinner även den brittiska fonden Man AHL Trend, liksom svenska Aktie-Ansvar – Graal Kvanthedge, på listan.

Även i HedgeNordics breda index – NHX Composit – är det tydligt att CTA har hittat trenderna igen och att marknader verkar återgå till mer normala mönster och därmed, tillsammans med Fixed Income-fonder, leverera god avkastning.

Bästa fond i år är dock varken en CTA eller Fixed Income-fond. På första plats – på båda listorna – återfinns svenska Rhenman Healthcare Equity L/S, med Henrik Rhenman som ansvarig förvaltare. Henrik har hittills under året genererat en avkastning på +32,16%, mer än 12%-enheter bättre än nummer två på listan.
