Förändringar inom nordiskt CTA-index – fem fonder flyttar

This year’s Alternative Fixed Income report from HedgeNordic explores how institutional investors and asset managers are navigating this new reality, balancing yield and resilience amid shifting credit cycles, structural change, and evolving sources of return.

Stockholm (HedgeFonder.nu) – Från och med januari 2013 kommer respektive delindex inom Nordic Hedge Index (NHX) att förändras. Det första steget var att flytta fem fonder, samtliga energiförvaltare, från underkategorin Managed Futures / CTA, till Multi Strategy-kategorin. Fonderna som berörs är: Adapto Energy, Sector EuroPower Fund, Shepherd Energy, ALFA Energy Fund och NorWatt Energy AS.

Undantaget är Sector EuroPower Fund, som kommer att kvarstå inom underkategorin CTA, efter diskussioner med förvaltaren Sector Asset
Management i Norge.

“Vi kände att kategorin Managed Futures inte på ett korrekt sätt beskriver tradingstrategierna för dessa fonder och försämrar noggrannheten inom NHX CTA-delindex”, säger Kamran Ghalitschi, chefredaktör på HedgeFonder.nu.

Multi strategy är inom HedgeNordic-databaserna och Nordic Hedge Index (NHX) en hybridkategori. Det inkluderar alla nordiska hedgefonder som använder multitradingstrategier, men täcker också in strategier som inte passar in i definitionerna för de övrig kategorierna.

NHX-index kommer att genomgå vissa uppdateringar och förändringar under 2013. Urvalskriterierna för listade fonder kommer att utvidgas till att inkludera fonder och förvaltare med nordisk bakgrund eller till exempel vars investeringstema är strikt nordiskt. Enligt nuvarande regler är deltagande i indexet begränsat till förvaltningsbolag med juridisk hemvist i något av de nordiska länderna.

I slutet av januari kommer HedgeFonder.nu tillsammans med RPM att arrangera ett rundabordssamtal om den nordiska CTA-industrin Bland deltagarna finner vi AP1, Ålandsbanken Commodity Fund, ALFAKRAFT Commoditiy Fund, Coeli Spektrum, Estlander & Partners, IPM Informed Portfolio Management, Movestic, SEB Asset Selection samt RPM och Nordic Business Media.
