Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – The Swedish fund selection platform Fundrella has appointed Struan Malcolm as Chief Operating Officer. Malcom will lead the expansion of Fundrella’s ESG-focused fund selection and reporting platform. This announcement comes on the heels of Fundrella securing significant funding from venture capital firm VEQ.

Malcolm most recently served as Head of Nordic Sales for Northern Trust’s Asset Servicing business, where he gained expertise in distribution by assisting asset managers in launching funds in major fund domiciles. Before his decade-long tenure at Northern Trust in Stockholm, Malcolm served as a Transition Manager at Northern Trust, ABN Amro and Nomura, overseeing large multi-asset portfolio transactions for institutional investors. Malcolm’s appointment comes as Fundrella continues to expand internationally, broaden its user base of institutional investors and grow its client base of asset managers worldwide.

“I am delighted to be joining such a fantastic team at this pivotal moment, building on the success so far to promote further efficiency, innovation, and sustainable investments…”

“Fundrella has built a matchmaking engine for ESG criteria in the asset manager selection process now followed by professional investors that use Fundrella,” comments Struan Malcolm. “The value of Fundrella to the industry has been validated through the impressive client list that Fundrella has accumulated in a short space of time, with many of the world’s largest asset managers benefiting from accessing scalable technology, improved data insights, and greater visibility,” he emphasizes. “I am delighted to be joining such a fantastic team at this pivotal moment, building on the success so far to promote further efficiency, innovation, and sustainable investments in the investment and savings industry.”

“Struan is a fantastic addition to our leadership team, with strong industry experience and sector expertise to help accelerate our business growth,” remarks Wava Bodin, Founder and CEO of Fundrella. “Struan’s background in asset management, asset servicing, and distribution will also be a huge asset for Fundrella and its clients and users. We are also excited for Struan to lead our partnership strategy as we seek to accelerate our expansion into new markets.”
