All-In-One Fund Marks Milestone with Five-Star Rating

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Othania Balanceret Makro, an all-in-one fund blending stocks, bonds, and alternatives through tactical allocation, has reached its three-year milestone. The multi-strategy fund of funds, operating under the Danish fund boutique Othania, is celebrating its anniversary by attaining a five-star rating from Morningstar. The rating underscores the fund’s position among the top ten percent within its category of 322 funds, reflecting solid performance in terms of absolute and risk-adjusted return metrics.

“We must remember to celebrate the good events in life – that’s why we are celebrating this milestone today. Othania Balanceret Makro A/S has just passed three years of history,” comments Vincent Larsen, CIO of Othania and co-founder alongside his younger brother Christian. “The new 5-star rating is a welcome recognition of our long-term approach to investing across stocks, bonds, alternatives and tactical asset allocation,” he comments on receiving a five-star rating from Morningstar. “On our own behalf and on behalf of our co-investors, we are very, very proud of the external recognition of our absolute and relative returns – which is mainly due to our combination of active management with the use of passive ETFs.”

“The new 5-star rating is a welcome recognition of our long-term approach to investing across stocks, bonds, alternatives and tactical asset allocation.”

The Danish boutique asset manager launched Othania Balanceret Makro in September 2020 as a “one-stop” solution offering access to a wide range of asset classes through investments in hedge funds, alternative investment funds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). As one of Othania’s five funds, Othania Balanceret Makro employs a global balanced investment strategy across equities, bonds and alternatives, combining active and passive management. The ultimate goal is to create “a one-stop product that combines all thinkable asset classes into one.”

Similar to the boutique’s initial funds, Othania Balanceret Makro relies on its proprietary “Tiger” investment model, which uses a range of leading indicators related to economic activity, interest rates, and stock market movements to automatically adjust the risk in the balanced portfolio. Othania Balanceret Makro has delivered an annualized return of 4.6 percent since its launch three years ago, despite experiencing a more challenging 2022, when both equities and bonds struggled at the same time. “We would like to thank our fellow investors very much for the trust – and we look forward to continuing to ‘pay’ back through good, positive and risk-adjusted returns,” concludes Christian Larsen.
