Asset Advisor ‘Signs’ Third Analyst

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Asset Advisor, an active multi-asset manager based out of Aarhus in Denmark, has strengthened its team with a third financial and risk analyst, all working alongside the three-member portfolio management team. Asset Advisor, which runs the alternative fund Asset Opportunities by employing a dynamic and opportunistic multi-asset strategy with a risk-on, risk-off approach, has welcomed Mikkel Mølbak as a Financial and Risk Analyst.

“Asset Advisor has “signed” Mikkel Mølbak to the position as Financial and Risk Analyst. Despite a fierce bidding war from Saudi Arabian contenders, Asset Advisor ultimately drew the longest straw and won the battle for Mikkel’s signature,” announces Asset Advisor. This reference draws parallels to Saudi Arabia’s significant investments in acquiring football players, highlighting a similar pursuit of talent within the financial sector. Mølbak has been working as a part-time student assistant financial analyst at Asset Advisor since March, following two years as an equity analyst assistant at Jyske Bank. Freshly equipped with a Master’s degree in Finance at Aarhus BSS, Mølbak assumed the role of a full-time financial analyst at Asset Advisor on August 1.

“I’m the latest addition to Asset Advisor. I am employed as a Risk and Financial Analyst, where my responsibilities within analysis include quantification and analysis of market psychology and sentiment as well as portfolio screening of equities,” Mølbak reflects on his new role. “What particularly appealed to me about Asset Advisor was their unique approach to financial markets and the dynamic environment in which in-depth analysis and innovative decision-making thrive. It’s a hugely inspiring team to be a part of,” he continues. “I’m delighted to be part of the team at Asset Advisor.”

Per Gramstrup launched his opportunistic multi-asset risk-on, risk-off strategy in the form of a Danish alternative investment fund, Asset Opportunities, in late 2016. This transition followed years of operating as a one-person boutique catering to institutional clients. Asset Opportunities has achieved an annualized return of 6.5 percent since November 2016 and reached its best annual performance in the difficult market conditions of 2022 with a full-year return of 16 percent.

Gramstrup and his team aim to identify attractively-valued risk-reward opportunities across asset classes and individual securities, ranging from Danish and international stocks, stock index futures, interest rate futures, and corporate bonds to put and call options, among others. This allocation relies on a continuous evaluation of risk-on, risk-off sentiment, using a set of objective and subjective assessments based on long-term trend analysis, economic cycles, monetary policy, investor sentiment, asset flows, market participant behaviour, and biases.
