Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Catella Fonder has strengthened its portfolio management team with the hiring of Mattias Larsson, who worked as a portfolio manager at Industrivärden for almost 15 years. Larsson will focus on managing fund-of-funds Catella Balanserad and index tracker fund Catella Sverige Hållbart Beta. “We welcome Mattias Larsson as the new manager at Catella Fonder,” the Swedish asset manager writes in a press release.

Mattias Larsson

“It feels fantastically fun and interesting to be part of Catella Fonder and an extremely competent team,” says Mattias Larsson. “My almost 20 years of experience in trading and portfolio management have shown most of the tests that this type of work with a focus on absolute returns entails,” he continues. “I believe that my knowledge in derivatives trading and execution will be put to good use.”

Larsson worked as a portfolio manager at Industrivärden from the summer of 2004 through the beginning of 2019. Before joining Industrivärden, he worked as an equity derivatives trader at Handelsbanken Capital Markets for four and a half years. He started his career at Handelsbanken Capital Markets in 1998.

“There are clouds of unrest in the form of rising cost inflation and component shortages in semiconductors, for example.”

Sharing his outlook on financial markets upon joining Catella Fonder, Mattias Larsson says that “the outlook for most companies is positive, which is also reflected in strong macro fundamentals.” Larsson goes on to add that “there are clouds of unrest in the form of rising cost inflation and component shortages in semiconductors, for example.” According to Larsson, “the development of Covid-19 will also, of course, be crucial for economic and financial growth.”
