Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Ralf Magnussen, the chief investment officer of Danish pension fund AP Pension, will be the next chief investment officer of Nykredit Asset Management. Magnussen will replace Morten Therkildsen, who has decided to take a career break to go sailing around the world with his family.

“After almost six years in AP Pension as chief investment officer, I will take up the position of CEO of Nykredit Asset Management in mid-August,” Magnussen writes in a LinkedIn post. “I look forward to building on the great results that Nykredit Asset Management has created for many years,” he continues. “I will miss my talented colleagues at AP Pension, but at the same time, I am pleased with the results that we have created together. All the best for the future.”

“I look forward to building on the great results that Nykredit Asset Management has created for many years.”

Ralf Magnussen has been the chief investment officer of AP Pension for six years. Before joining the Danish pension fund, he was an executive vice president at the doctors’ pension fund Laegernes Pensionskasse for over ten years. “I’ve been very happy. I’m also very proud of the results we have achieved at AP Pension,” Magnussen tells AMWatch. “But now that I’ve got the opportunity to take responsibility for Nykredit Asset Management, it is time to make a change.”

“The potential is still enormous, and Nykredit AM is in the best hands of the colleagues I have been privileged to be in the same boat with during my time in Nykredit.”

Morten Therkildsen became the sole CEO of Nykredit Asset Management, Denmark’s third-largest asset manager, in July of last year, six months after the merger of Nykredit with Sparinvest. He held the co-CEO role at the asset manager from December 2014. In a recent LinkedIn post, Therkildsen said he and his wife decided a few years ago to put their working life on hold at the opportune time and fulfill their life-long dream of sailing around the world. “The potential is still enormous, and Nykredit AM is in the best hands of the colleagues I have been privileged to be in the same boat with during my time in Nykredit,” Therkildsen said in the post.
