Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Catella announced that it has appointed Anna Strömberg (pictured), formerly of Nordea and an expert in Sustainability and Responsible Investment (SRI), as a new portfolio manager at Caterlla’s fund management operations. Strömberg brings numerous years of experience as a manager of both Swedish and global equity portfolios and considerable SRI/ESG expertise to the operation.

“We are pleased and proud to be able to announce Anna Strömberg as a new portfolio manager at Catella’s fund management operations. Catella has high ambitions for its fund management and, with her solid background in portfolio management and sustainability, Anna will be an excellent complement to the existing team,” says Erik Kjellgren, head of the Swedish fund operations.

Continues Kjellgren: “We have chosen to recruit an individual with extensive experience of managing equities, combined with excellent knowledge of sustainability. Our clients these days demand strong procedures for sustainability, and we therefore have a clear ambition to also improve in this area. It is important for sustainability efforts to be truly integrated into the management process, and Anna’s extensive experience of portfolio management is therefore central. Anna will have a broad role in our operations in order to enhance the general focus on sustainability, and she will also have her own defined portfolio management responsibilities as an important part of the team surrounding the Catella Reavinstfond fund.”

Strömberg has 18 years of experience in the management of Swedish and global equities, often in concentrated portfolios based on fundamental analysis. She also possesses broad sector knowledge and is familiar with analyzing stocks globally. Strömberg’s role at Nordea Responsible Investments included developing and operating the processes of sustainability analysis at Nordea, and improving integration between the equity and ESG teams.

Strömberg took up her position 1 September 2016.
