Powering Hedge Funds

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Augusti präglades av stora svängningar på världens finansmarknader med kraftiga fall i aktier och råvaror. Denna händelseutveckling visade sig inte bara besvärlig för fonder med lång exponering mot aktier utan slog också hårt mot hedgefonder.

En sammanställning av de hedgefonder som förvaltas under Brummer & Partners visar på en nedgång för Brummer Multi-Strategy (BMS) under augusti på 2,7 procent, därmed är uppgången sedan årsskiftet 1,9 procent.

Bland de underliggande fonderna var Lynx det stora sänket med en nedgång på 7,0 procent. Även makrofonden Canosa (-4,1 procent), den teknikfokuserade hedgefonden Manticore (-4,1 procent) samt aktiehedgefonden Zenit (-3,0 procent) noterade betydande nedgångar under månaden.

Multistrategifonden Carve och den marknadsneutrala hedgefonden MNJ klarade månaden relativt bra med nedgångar på 1,4 respektive 0,2 procent.

Bland de fonder som noterade positiva bidrag märktes Nektar och Observatory, vardera med en uppgång på 0,5 procent.

Under månaden började en av Brummers senaste tillskott, Florin Court, handlas. Fonden sjönk 1 procent.
