Ryanair: Irländska regeringen diskuterer Aer Lingus-bud

STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Irlands transportminister Leo Varadkar uppger att han ska diskutera Ryanairs bud på Aer Lingus med den irländska regeringen den 26 juni.

Han vill få ett bra pris på statens andel i bolaget och menar att Ryanairs bud visar på att Aer Lingus är undervärderat.

Han säger även att konkurrensregler i Storbritannien och EU kan sätta stopp för affären.

Den irländska staten äger en andel om 25 procent i Aer Lingus.

Aer Lingus uppmanade på onsdagskvällen sina aktieägare att inte acceptera Ryanairs bud, bland annat med motiveringen att det inte kan rekommendera ett bud som troligtvis kommer att blockeras på grund av konkurrensregler.

Även om Ryanairs bud på 1:30 euro per aktie innebär en budpremie på 38 procent jämfört med tisdagens stängningskurs, undervärderar budet Aer Lingus med tanke på bolagets senaste finansiella resultat, skriver bolaget i ett pressmeddelande.

Ryanairs ägarandel om 29,8 procent i Aer Lingus är för närvarande under utredning av den brittiska konkurrensmyndigheten, och Ryanair få inte öka sin andel i bolaget utan godkännande från myndigheten.

Ryanair har tidigare gjort försök att ta kontroll över Aer Lingus, men stoppats av EU-kommissionen.
