VÄRLDEN I “OMFATTANDE EKONOMISK TURBULENS”

STOCKHOLM (Direkt) ECB-rådsledamoten och Frankrikes centralbankschef Christian Noyer sade i ett tal i Tokyo på måndagen att världen upplever en “omfattande ekonomisk turbulens” och att de stora ekonomiernas statsobligationer inte längre ses som riskfria.

Det rapporterar Bloomberg News.

Han sade att det inte finns något alternativ för amerikanska statsobligationer (Treasuries) när det gäller likviditet.

Christian Noyer sade att han har noterat “abrupta” uppgångar i räntespreadarna i EU:s periferi, men att data inte signalerar någon stor ohållbarhet där. En “negativ spiral” har setts i Spanien och Italien sedan i augusti, noterade han och tillade att franska banker är sårbara på grund av beroendet av dollarfinansiering. Han anser dock att oron för de franska bankernas exponering mot skulder i euroområdets periferi är överdrivna och att samverkan mellan marknader och regeringar har blivit farligare.
