RELEVANS WTI FÖRSVAGAS, RÅVARUINDEX VIKTAR OM

STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Relevansen av USA:s största råoljekontrakt, West Texas
Intermediate, försvagas i takt med att flera råvaruindex viktar om till att i större utsträckning använda sig av nordsjöoljan Brent.

Det skriver Barclays i en analys på fredagen, enligt Bloomberg News.

Dow Jones-UBS råvaruindex meddelade den 11 oktober att den kommer att inkludera Brent för första gången, från och med i januari. Viktningen kommer att vara 5,31 procent, en tredje del av andelen råolja. Samtidigt ska WTI-oljans viktning
minskas till 9,69 procent från 14,71 procent. Standard & Poor’s GSCI-index har sagt att de kommer att göra liknande förändringar.

“Det faktum att DJUBSCI är berett att göra sådana förändringar, trots
kostnaderna och svårigheterna involverade, tyder på att de inte räknar med att oredan som har påverkat prissättningen på råoljan i mellanvästern kommer att lätta”, skriver Barclays.

Banken skriver att de ännu inte delar synen att WTI är ett helt ‘brutet’
benchmark, men att besluten visar att dess relevans försvagats”.
