STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Guld kan komma att stiga till över 2.000 dollar per uns i år, på grund av att oro över inbromsande ekonomier, låga räntor och skuldkriser ger stöd till investeringar i råvaran.

Det skriver analysfirman GFMS i en analys på torsdagen, enligt Bloomberg News.

Investeringar i guld kommer att stiga till 1.069 ton andra halvåret från 624 ton första halvåret. Samtidigt kommer nettoköp av centralbanker stiga till 336 ton under helåret 2011 jämfört med 64 ton 2010, medan konsumtionen av guldsmycken i stort kommer att vara oförändrad.

“Vi ser fortsatta problem i euroområdet, den möjliga spridningen av statsskuldsfrågorna till USA samt pågående oro över den globala ekonomin. Var annars skulle du parkera dina pengar?”, sade Neil Meader, analyschef vid GFMS.

Samtidigt som GFMS tror på ett pris om 2.000 dollar per uns, förväntar sig analysfirman en “betydande prisvolatilitet”, som föregås av en dämpad prisutveckling.

Efterfrågan på smycken väntas minska med 4 procent andra halvåret jämfört med de första sex månaderna. Det ger ändå en ökning med 0,7 procent under helåret 2011
jämfört med förra året, till 2.032 ton.

“Det finns ett element av prisacceptans, men jag tror att det för smycken mer handlar om att det skiftar till att mer bli en investering än bara en utsmyckning”, sade Neil Meader.
