Norska oljefondens övervakare slutar

Stockholm (HedegFonder.nu) – Finansdepartementet har bekräftat att Martin Skancke har sagt upp sig från sin position som chef över det departemente som övervakar den statliga oljefonden (statliga globala pensionsfonden).
Den suveräna fonden har ett estimerat förvaltat kapital om 600 miljarder USD och förvaltas av Norges Bank Investment Management.
NBIM svarar till norska parlamentet genom landets finansdepartement, där Skancke ledde det ovan aktuella departementet. Utöver att övervaka fonden så har finansdepartementet en aktiv roll i beslut som rör fondens investeringsstrategi.
Dagens Näringsliv rapporterade att Skancke slutar för att öppna en konsultfirma som ska ge råd till andra suveräna fonder, samt arbeta för norska försäkringsbolaget Storebrand och dess kapitalförvaltning Storebrand Kapitalförvaltning.
Hans roll vid finansdepartementet kommer att tas över av Pål Haugerud, vilket bekräftas av en talesperson.
Skancke är bunden av tystnadsplikt men säger att han inte ser någon intressekonflikt i att hjälpa framförallt afrikanska och asiatiska länder att etablera sina egna suveräna fonder. Han tillbringade fem år som chef för departementet som övervakar oljefonden.
