Tidan Grows Systematic Team with Young Talent

Latest Report

This year’s Alternative Fixed Income report from HedgeNordic explores how institutional investors and asset managers are navigating this new reality, balancing yield and resilience amid shifting credit cycles, structural change, and evolving sources of return.

Stockholm-based multi-strategy boutique Tidan Capital has strengthened its team with a series of high-profile hires in recent months, including the addition of Anders Holst with his extensive experience from Lynx Asset Management. As part of its ongoing expansion, Tidan has also added fresh talent, including Måns Hjort, who has been appointed Quantitative Researcher within the firm’s systematic strategies group led by Linus Nilsson.

Måns Hjort initially joined Tidan Capital through his Master’s thesis project, “A Locally Concave Transient Price Impact Model and Optimal Execution,” completed as part of his engineering degree. His research focused on modelling and optimizing intraday execution in futures markets, yielding strong empirical results and practical insights. “Throughout the project, Måns impressed us with his analytical depth, structured approach, and ability to engage with complex, real-world trading challenges,” says the team at Tidan Capital. “It quickly became clear he was a great long-term fit for the team.”

In his new role, Hjort will contribute to the ongoing development of Tidan Capital’s systematic strategies, focusing on signal generation, model infrastructure, and execution research. Operating under Linus Nilsson’s leadership within the Systematic Strategies team, Tidan Capital manages the Asterion Program – a multi-strategy systematic approach designed to capture short-term price fluctuations through multiple uncorrelated strategies inspired by behavioral patterns and flow-driven market dynamics. The program aims to deliver returns with low correlation to traditional trend-following models.

Under the leadership of CEO Serge Houles, Tidan Capital has transformed into a multi-strategy platform extending beyond its flagship capital structure relative value strategy. The Stockholm-based boutique currently manages three discretionary strategies and one systematic strategy, each spanning different time horizons and built on investment processes refined by experienced portfolio managers over the years.
