Starkt februari för hedgefonder

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Enligt FoHF förvaltaren FRM’s marknadsrapport “Early View” var februari månad stark för hedgefonder. Man oroas däremot över den uppgång som varit i så kallade “beta trades” och uppmanar investerare att reducera portföljrisker givet osäkerhet om Federal Reserves framtida räntehöjningar och ett överhängande deflationshot.

Enligt FRM var hedgefonder överlag positiva under februari med undantag för Managed Futures. Diskretionära makrofonder var särskilt starka då många av deras råvarurelaterade teman genererade positiv avkastning under månaden.

Riskfyllda tillgångar hade en stark månad vilket gynnade såväl equity long/short strategier som kreditstrategier. Event driven strategier hade också en mycket positiv månad.

Managed Futures strategier vände marginellt ned efter den senaste tidens mycket starka avkastning som ett resultat av kort exponering mot olja och långa positioner i räntor. Denna positionering reducerades något under månaden men positionernas riktning består.
