Inflödet till hedgefonder största på sju år under 2014

This year’s Alternative Fixed Income report from HedgeNordic explores how institutional investors and asset managers are navigating this new reality, balancing yield and resilience amid shifting credit cycles, structural change, and evolving sources of return.

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Enligt hedgefond-undersökningsföretaget HFR var inflödet till hedgefonder 76,4 miljarder USD totalt under 2014. Det gör att assets under management för hela industrin nästan nått 3 biljoner-gränsen.

Störst var inflödena under årets andra och tredje kvartal. Förvaltningsresultaten har varit betydligt sämre än S&P 500 vilket gör de stora inflödena förvånande. Trots relativt höga förvaltningsavgifter är investerare alltså fortfarande intresserade av hedgefonder. Generellt sett kan hedgefonder, särskilt de som faktiskt hedgar sina positioner, ha svårare att leverera resultat i en stark marknad. När marknaderna är mer fluktuerande eller i en nedåtgående trend är hedgefonder ofta bättre på att leverera resultat och att sänka investerares övergripande investeringsrisker.
