Kinesisk hedgefondfirma förnekar stora förluster

Göteborg (FinWire) – Kinesiska hedgefondfirman Shanghai Chaos dementerar på onsdagen rykten att en av dess fonder ska ha likviderats till följd av det kraftiga börsraset. Enligt företaget har en del investerare visserligen valt att plocka ut en del kapital men fonden ska fortfarande vara aktiv, rapporterar Financial Times.

Den Shanghai-baserade fonden blev känd i januari efter att ha tagit en stor blankningsposition i kopparn, en position som nyligen ska ha stängts.

Fondbolaget slår även tillbaka mot rykten om att dess ordförande Ge Weidong har tagits in på sjukhus.

– Mr. Ge Weidong’s tillgångar är säkra, han är frisk och han kommer att fortsätta arbeta för investerarna, skriver bolaget på sin hemsida.

Shanghai Chaos skriver vidare att även övriga produkter fungerar normalt och uppmanar kunderna att använda sunt förnuft för att avgöra vad som är felaktiga rykten.
