Hedgefonder fortsätter upp

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Enligt Lyxors “weekly brief” rapport fortsätter hedgefonder sin klättring under mars månad. Sedan årsskiftet är Lyxors hedgefondindex upp 3,5 procent.

Under den senaste veckan har L/S Equity fonder varit den bäst presterande strategin där asiatiska förvaltare varit särskilt lyckosamma.

Event driven strategier har också bidragit till den senaste tidens positiva avkastning med en uppgång på 1,3 procent i mars. Investeringar i konsumentprodukter och kommunikation är de största positiva inslagen. Bland annat som ett resultat av positioner i Vivendi där en hedgefond förvaltare pressat ledningen att dela ut 9 miljarder euro i extra utdelning och knoppa av Universal Music vilket fått kursen att stiga brant.

Vad gäller CTA och Global Macro var dessa strategier svagt ned under den senaste veckan. Förvaltarnas resultat tyngdes av de trendbrott på valuta- och råvarumarknaderna som följde av FOMC mötet. Den pågående dollarförstärkningen avbröts och råvarupriser steg som ett resultat av politiska spänningar i Mellanöstern. Förluster i långa USD positioner och korta råvarupositioner kompenserades av vinster från långa positioner i aktier och räntor.
