Stora utflöden ur en Carlyle hedgefond

Göteborg (FinWire) – Carlyles dotterbolag, hedgefondsspecialisten Claren Road Asset Management, har drabbats av stora utflöden och sedan i oktober förra året har investerarna tagit ut inte mindre än 2,5 miljarder dollar.

Bakgrunden är att hedgefonden gjort dåliga investeringar i bolånejättarna Fannie Mae och Freddie Mac, rapporterar Marketwatch och hänvisar till källor.

Carlyle är ett av många private equity-bolag som på senare år också expanderat in till området för hedgefonder.

Claren Road, som Carlyle köpte år 2010, tappade 9,9 procent under förra året. I och med de senaste uttagen kan det förvaltade kapitalet ha minskat till 5,2 miljarder dollar.
