Omdiskuterad finansman köper Picasso för 1 miljard

Stockholm (HedgeFonder.nu) – För mindre än två veckor sedan gick hedgefondstjärnan Steven Cohen med på att betala nästan 4 miljarder kronor för att avsluta ett mål om insiderhandel. Nu köper han en Picasso-målning för 1 miljard kronor, rapporterar Di.se och citerar New York Times.

Steven Cohen har köpt tavlan “Le Rêve” av kasinoägaren Stephen Wynn. Köpesumman blev hisnande 155 miljoner dollar, motsvarande 1 miljard kronor.

Uppgiften kommer enligt New York Times från en person med direkt insyn i affären. Steven Cohen är sedan tidigare känd som en flitig konstköpare.

När han inte samlar konst driver och äger han hedgefonden SAC. Som Hedgefonder.nu rapporterat tidigare har fonden vid flera gånger utretts för misstänkt insiderhandel. Fyra nuvarande eller före detta anställda har redan erkänt sig skyldiga till att brutit mot insiderlagen under sin tid på SAC.

Steven Cohen förnekar att han själv skulle ha gjort något olagligt. Di.se rapporterar vidare att han tidigare under mars månad dock gick med på att betala cirka 4 miljarder kronor i en förlikning i ett insidermål.
