STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Strejker vid sydafrikanska guldgruvor har stängt ned cirka 39 procent av landets produktionskapacitet.

Det skriver Bloomberg News på onsdagen.

Anglogold, världens tredje största guldproducent, uppgav på onsdagen att samtliga av bolagets sydafrikanska gruvor har stoppat produktionen. Gold Fields förlorade 1 ton produktion efter strejker vid två gruvor.

“Anställda kräver löneökningar i linje med ‘Lonmin-avtalet’. Strejkerna kan mycket väl sprida sig till andra gruvor som Harmonys gruvor och andra industrier”, skrev David Davis, guldanalytiker vid SBG Securities, i ett marknadsbrev.

En sex veckor lång våldsam strejk vid Lonmins Marikana-gruva resulterade i 46 döda innan löneökningar om 22 procent avtalades, nära fyra gånger så mycket som inflationstakten i augusti.
