STOCKHOLM (Direkt) En oordnad default i Grekland skulle sannolikt kräva
utomstående hjälp till Spanien och Italien för att stoppa riskerna för smittspridning, och orsaka skador på mer än 1.000 miljarder dollar för
euroområdet.

Det skriver Institute of International Finance, IIF, i en rapport som Reuters tagit del av.

“Det finns en del mycket viktiga och skadliga följder som skulle bli resultatet av en oordnad default på den grekiska statsskulden. Det är svårt att addera alla dessa skyldigheter (“contingent liabilities”) med någon form av precision, men det är samtidigt svårt att se att de inte skulle överstiga 1.000 miljarder euro”, skriver IIF.

Rapporten är daterad till den 18 februari.

IIF vill att obligationsinnehavare ska gå med på ett skuldbyte som skulle lätta på Greklands skuldbörda med över 100 miljarder euro. Torsdagen ses som deadline för en sådan uppgörelse.
