STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Den globala produktionen av råstål uppgick till 130 miljoner ton under maj, motsvarande en ökning om 4,2 procent jämfört med samma månad 2010.

Det skriver World Steel Association, WSA, i ett pressmeddelande på måndagen.

Kapacitetsutnyttjandet hos producenterna inom WSA minskade till 81,7 procent i maj, att jämföra med 82,3 procent månaden före. Jämfört med motsvarande månad ett år tidigare sjönk kapacitetsutnyttjandet med 0,5 procentenheter.

Produktionen i Kina var under maj 60,2 miljoner ton, upp 7,8 procent i årstakt. Japan producerade 9,0 miljoner ton, ned 7,0 procent. Sydkoreas produktion ökade med 12,8 procent till 5,9 miljoner ton.

I Europa steg den tyska produktionen av råstål med 1,1 procent i maj till 4,1 miljoner ton, jämfört med maj 2010. Italiens produktion var under samma period 2,6 miljoner ton, upp 6,9 procent.

I USA producerades 7,3 miljoner ton råstål i maj, en uppgång med 0,1 procent.

Sveriges produktion steg med 12,7 procent till 495.000 ton.
