Excalibur fortsatte att leverera under maj

Stockholm (Hedgefonder.nu) – Räntehedgefonden Excalibur levererade positiv avkastning även under maj. Resultatet skrevs till +0,40% för månaden och +1,94% för innevarande år.

Fonden Excalibur, som startade april 2001, förvaltas av Thomas Pohjanen och Björn Suurwee genom Excalibur Värdepappersfond AB som är ett oberoende fondbolag som bildades 1 januari 2006 då man övertog förvaltningen från Lancelot Asset Management och ägs till lika delar av förvaltarna och Rune Andersson genom Mellby Gård AB.

Förvaltningen har som mål att fondens genomsnittliga risknivå (mätt som årlig standardavvikelse över en rullande 24-månadersperiod) skall ligga mellan 5-8 procent. Detta motsvarar över tiden cirka en tredjedel av den volatilitet som finns i en bred aktieportfölj. Fondens årliga avkastning och dess avkastningsmål motsvarar ungefär aktiemarknadens, det vill säga 7-8 procent. Den genomsnittliga årliga avkastningen sedan start har varit +6,7%.

Inriktningen är att över tid uppnå en god absolut avkastning via en aktiv förvaltning av räntebärande finansiella instrument med tyngdpunkt på räntemarknaderna i Europa och USA, samt att diversifiera portföljen i syfte att minska volatiliteten i resultatet. Genom att kombinerar avista- och derivatinstrument kan man skräddarsy positioner och avgränsa risker till önskvärd exponering.

Excalibur kom på en tredje plats i hedgefondklassen – efter Lynx och Nektar – när priset för Årets Stjärnförvaltare 2010 delades ut av DI och Morningstar.
