Lynx tappar i spåren av Japansk jordbävning

Stockholm (HedgeFonder.nu) – Den svenska storförvaltaren Brummer & Partners trendföljande fond Lynx har under mars månad förlorat hela årets avkastning och visar nu upp negativ avkastning för årets första kvartal. Efter jordbävningen i Japan, då marknaden snabbt vände nedåt, tappade fonden en hel del i värde i framförallt sina positioner i amerikanska aktier och råvaror. Fonden har dock inte förlorat på investeringar i Japan – snarare tjänat på en stark Yen-kurs.
Vad som sker under turbulenta perioder som denna är att fonden drar ner på sin risk och börjar bygga upp positioner igen. Detta har å andra sidan inneburit att man inte fullt ut kunnat dra nytta av den snabba återhämtningen i många marknader som vi sett under senare delen av mars. Lynx har avkastat +15,7% per år sedan fondstart mot +2,6% per år för svenska aktier under samma period.
Lynx föll -5,8% i mars och är nu ner -4,1% sedan årsskiftet, enligt fondbolagets preliminära uppgifter.
