Operational Challenges in Asset Management: Insights From Roundtable Discussion

Running a hedge fund has never been just about managing investments. For emerging and established managers alike, building an efficient, resilient and scalable operating infrastructure has become an increasingly important part of running a successful investment business.

At HedgeNordic’s latest COO Roundtable, held in Copenhagen on 8 October, investment managers, allocators and industry service providers gathered to discuss the practical challenges facing the industry. The conversation covered everything from prime brokerage relationships and alternative fund structures to regulatory compliance, outsourcing and the growing role of artificial intelligence in investment operations.

A recurring theme was the need to balance efficiency with control. While technology and specialist service providers offer opportunities to reduce costs, automate processes and support growth, they also introduce new dependencies and oversight responsibilities.

Our latest Roundtable Report brings together the participants’ perspectives, practical experiences and lessons learned, offering a closer look at the operational decisions shaping the future of hedge fund management.
