ISLAND: HÖJER UTSIKTER KREDITBETYG TILL STAB FRÅN NEG – FITCH

STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Kreditvärderingsinstitutet Fitch höjer utsikterna för Islands
kreditbetyg, BBB+, till stabila från tidigare negativa.

Det framgår av ett pressmeddelande på måndagen.

Enligt Fitch speglar de höjda utsikterna en ny bedömning av hur landets
kreditvärdering på kort sikt påverkas av att befolkningen röstat om att avvisa
Icesave-överenskommelsen den 9 april.

“Fitch fortsätter att betrakta Icesave… som ett viktigt steg mot att
normalisera relationen mellan de internationella kreditgivarna. Men dispytens
kapacitet att stänga av möjligheten till multilateral och bilateral finansiering
för Islands räddningsprogram från IMF och därmed riskera Islands ekonomiska
återhämtning har helt klart minskat”, säger Paul Rawkings vid Fitch i en
kommentar.
