St. Petri Partners up for New Launch

Powering Hedge Funds

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Danish asset manager St. Petri Capital plans to launch a long-only European small-cap equity fund managed by its new partner, Ivan Larsen. Larsen managed a European small-cap equity fund under the umbrella of Danske Bank Asset Management until he departed from the asset manager in 2020 after 21 years with the firm.

“We are pleased to announce that we have welcomed Ivan Larsen as a new Partner at St. Petri Capital,” announces St. Petri Capital on LinkedIn. “Ivan will manage a long-only European small-cap fund that we expect to launch during 2022,” adds the Copenhagen-based hedge fund manager. “Ivan is a very skilled manager of European equities, and his knowledge and experience will become a big asset to the St. Petri team.”

Ivan Larsen started his career with the Bank of Copenhagen in 1993 and later joined Nordea Securities in 1995 as a senior analyst. He then joined Danske in 1998, where he most recently served as a chief portfolio manager before his departure in 2020. “Getting Ivan onboard is a good strategic fit to the team as he shares the same investment philosophy as us,” says the team at St. Petri Capital, co-founded by Michal Danielewicz and Jens Larsson in 2017. “We look forward to lift the expertise at St. Petri Capital and become even better at what we enjoy doing. Finding the best European small-cap stocks.”

“I have been working with European Small Cap stocks for almost 20 years, and later in 2022 St. Petri will be launching a European Small Cap fund, which I will be managing utilizing the experience and competencies that I have gained during my long career,” writes Ivan Larsen on LinkedIn. “I have known the partners Michal and Jens for many years, and I am convinced that we have a lot in common in the way we work, and I am looking forward to a very successful collaboration.”

After almost doubling investors’ money during 2020 with an advance of 98.3 percent, St. Petri L/S edged down 3.8 percent in 2021 followed by a gain of 1.0 percent in the first two months of 2022.
