Nordic hedge funds gain in October, CTAs lagging

Stockholm: (HedgeNordic) – Nordic hedge funds gained an estimated 0.8 % in October on the back of an improved sentiment in risk assets. Year to date, the NHX Composite index is in positive territory; +3.1 %.

Equity and multi-strategy funds were the best performers during the month where equity focused managers benefited from a strong rally in global stock markets. On the negative side, CTAs put in a poor month bringing the NHX CTA index into the red numbers for the year.

For the year, NHX Equities is the best ­performing sub-category followed by NHX Multi-Strategy. On a country-by-country level, Norway is the best performer in 2015. Closely followed by Denmark and Finland.

Among the best performing funds on the month were HCP Focus Fund, Formuepleje Penta and Rhenman Healthcare Equity L/S. On the year, Accendo, HCP Focus and AAM Absolute Return are the strongest performers.
