Carlyle Group minskade resultatet pga av svag utveckling för hedgefonder

Göteborg  (FinWire) – Carlyle Group minskade resultatet i det tredje kvartalet och nedgången förklaras delvis av en svag utveckling för företagets hedgefonder och andra investeringar.

Resultatet före skatt sjönk under det tredje kvartalet till 166 miljoner dollar. Nettoresultatet per aktie var 0,55 dollar, vilket var marginellt högre än Wall Streets förväntningar som låg vid 0,54 dollar. Det skriver DealBook.

Det är verksamheter som ligger utanför kärnområdet private equity som underpresterar. Affärsområdet som huserar hedgefonderna minskade sitt resultat med 88 procent till endast 1 miljon dollar. Hedgefonderna backade med 2,1 procent under kvartalet. Bolaget tappade också 8 miljoner dollar i avgifter. Även området som investerar i andra private equity-bolag gick dåligt och förlorade 5 miljoner dollar.
