Credit hedge fund manager Ridge Capital has strengthened its client-facing team with the hiring of Pierre Giannini as Business Development and Investor Relations Europe. Based in London, Giannini leads the firm’s investor relations and fundraising efforts across the UK and rest of continental Europe. The Stockholm-headquartered asset manager sees the move as a key step in broadening its investor base beyond the Nordic region.
“We are excited to welcome Pierre Giannini to Ridge Capital. He brings a wealth of international experience and a network of sophisticated investors that will be invaluable as we broaden our investor base beyond the Nordics,” says Måns Levin, Co-Founder and CEO of Ridge Capital. “We have high ambitions for the future, and as a firm built on principles such as ‘skin in the game,’ alignment, and authentic long-term partnerships, we believe Pierre’s expertise and network will give us an edge in realizing that vision,” he emphasizes. “We look forward to working together to forge lasting partnerships with capital owners and allocators across Europe and beyond.”
“Pierre combines deep market experience with a genuine focus on long-term relationships – exactly what we value at Ridge Capital,” adds Christoffer Malmström, Lead Portfolio Manager and Co-Founder of Ridge Capital. “With him in London, we’re strengthening our presence in one of the world’s key financial hubs and taking a natural next step in our international growth journey.”

Giannini joins Ridge Capital with more than 15 years of experience across financial markets, spanning asset management, private banking, and investor relations. He began his career in Paris during the global financial crisis at Saxo Bank before moving to London, where he has since held senior sales and client relations roles at leading investment firms. These include three years at RBC BlueBay Asset Management, where he covered clients in Western and Southern Europe, and most recently in investor relations and business development at a London-based asset manager specializing in credit relative value.
With extensive experience in client-facing roles, Giannini stresses that the real challenge is not finding investors but building lasting relationships. “Anyone can find investors. What makes the difference is building trust, having a constant and opened dialogue, and truly listening instead of just pitching,” he says. As Ridge Capital’s first representative in London, he views maintaining that constant dialogue as critical. “London is such a hub-having a presence here is crucial.”

Ridge Capital manages its flagship high-yield bond strategy through a Luxembourg-domiciled Reserved Alternative Investment Fund (RAIF), the Ridge Capital Northern Yield Fund. The structure combines monthly liquidity with the flexibility to employ leverage, enabling the Ridge Capital Northern Yield Fund to stay opportunistic, particularly during periods of market dislocation. Since its launch in early 2023, the fund managed by Lead Portfolio Manager Christoffer Malmström has delivered an annualized return of 15.6 percent over its first two and a half years with annualized volatility below 5 percent, achieving a Sharpe ratio above 3 and maintaining a low correlation to European high-yield fixed income.
