Lancelot Global, a long-only equity fund with flexible net exposure ranging from 60 to 120 percent, has strengthened its portfolio management team with the addition of Johan Swahn. After more than a decade at Nordea Asset Management, Swahn will co-manage the long-standing fund alongside Per Hedberg, who has been managing it since 2015.
“We welcome Johan Swahn as the new manager of Lancelot Global. We at Lancelot are proud that Johan has chosen to join the company,” announces the team at Lancelot Asset Management. “Johan is one of Sweden’s most experienced global managers and will bring valuable expertise and insights to further develop the fund,” the team adds. Swahn will officially take up his position on October 1, joining Per Hedberg, who has co-managed the fund since 2015. “We are very pleased that Johan has joined our team. He shares our investment philosophy and will bring new perspectives to the continued development of the fund,” says Sverker Thufvesson, CEO of Lancelot Holding.

Johan Swahn has spent the past ten and a half years as a portfolio manager at Nordea Asset Management. He previously held a brief portfolio management role at Skagen Funds, served as an investment manager at Stena AB for nearly six years, and had a short stint at Morgan Stanley in London. Earlier in his career, he worked for five years as an analyst at Handelsbanken Capital Markets. “I will miss all my friends at Nordea Asset Management but very proud and happy to join Lancelot Asset Management to contribute to the continued success of their global equities franchise together with Per Hedberg and the rest of the team,” Swahn writes on LinkedIn.

Part of the Equity Long-Only (ELO) sub-index, adjacent to the Nordic Hedge Index, Lancelot Global is an equity fund that focuses on identifying megatrends and investing in market-leading companies within these trends. Unlike most traditional equity funds, which are typically required to stay fully invested in stocks at all times, Lancelot Global can adjust its net exposure between 60 and 120 percent of the fund’s value. This flexibility allows the fund to mitigate the impact of market downturns while capturing higher returns during upward market movements. Since its launch in May 2003, Lancelot Global has delivered an annualized return of 13.2 percent and currently manages SEK 4.7 billion in assets under management.
