Hedge fund boutique Atlant Fonder has strengthened its portfolio management team with the appointment of Carl Johan Lagercrantz as a fixed-income portfolio manager. Lagercrantz will join the firm’s ten-member team, which manages €820 million in assets across eight funds as of the end of 2024. He is set to assume his new role in mid-April.

Lagercrantz brings extensive experience in the Nordic interest rate and corporate bond markets, most recently at Strand Kapitalförvaltning, where he has been working as a fixed-income portfolio manager for five and a half years. In his role at Strand, he has been instrumental in developing interest rate management and launching and managing the Strand Corporate Bond Fund. Prior to that, he held positions as a fixed-income portfolio manager at Cicero Fonder and worked in high-yield sales at Swedbank. Lagercrantz began his investment career at the Öhman Group, where he also served as a fixed-income credit analyst and assistant fund manager, among other roles.

“We are very happy that Carl Johan chose Atlant Fonder and believe he will be a valuable addition to the credit expertise within our portfolio management team.”

Peter Beckman, CEO at Atlant Fonder.

“We are very happy that Carl Johan chose Atlant Fonder and believe he will be a valuable addition to the credit expertise within our portfolio management team,” says Peter Beckman, who recently assumed the role of CEO at Atlant Fonder. “There will undoubtedly be a fruitful exchange of ideas between his experience and Atlant’s investment management philosophy.” Atlant Fonder actively pursues fixed-income investing across its fund range, which includes two pure fixed-income funds. The team actively utilizes derivatives in its funds to minimize risk and achieve superior risk-adjusted returns.

“In my view, the combination of the Nordic corporate bond market with derivative strategies is a winning approach to achieving strong risk-adjusted returns over time.”

In my view, the combination of the Nordic corporate bond market with derivative strategies is a winning approach to achieving strong risk-adjusted returns over time,” comments Lagercrantz on joining Atlant Fonder. “I look forward to joining this competent team and continuing to develop and contribute to Atlant Fonder’s journey going forward.”
