Veteran Asset Advisor Team Member Seeks New Opportunities

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – After 14 years with the Aarhus-based fund boutique Asset Advisor, Jesper Ehlers Laursen has decided to pursue new opportunities. Laursen started his tenure with portfolio management responsibilities during the firm’s early years when Asset Advisor was essentially a two-man operation led by founder Per Gramstrup. As the firm expanded, Laursen transitioned into a more administrative role, eventually becoming Chief Operating Officer.

“Sometimes you owe it to yourself to stop and feel what feels right in your stomach. After a long period of mature considerations, I have therefore chosen to resign from my position at Asset Advisor Fondsmæglerselskab A/S,” Laursen (pictured right) announces on LinkedIn. Laursen says “it is now time for some change of scenery,” 14 years after joining Asset Advisor’s architect Gramstrup. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire team at Asset Advisor, both former and current colleagues, with whom I have been fortunate enough to work,” says Laursen. “I am proud of what we have built together over the past many years, and I wish you all and the business all the best in the future.”

Christian Munch Sand, a partner and senior portfolio manager at Asset Advisor, highlights Laursen’s important role in the firm’s development, saying “Jesper has been an integral part of Asset Advisor for 14 years, contributing significantly to the foundation and growth of the company.” Sand goes on to add that “We are deeply grateful for his hard work, dedication, and the positive spirit he brought to the team. We wish Jesper all the best in his future endeavors and look forward to seeing what he accomplishes next.”

Asset Advisor was founded by Gramstrup over 15 years ago as a one-person boutique focused on managing an opportunistic multi-asset risk-on, risk-off strategy. In late 2016, Gramstrup extended this strategy into a fund format with the launch of Asset Opportunities. The strategy behind Asset Opportunities involves a continuous assessment of risk sentiment in financial markets, allowing the team to allocate to attractively valued risk-reward opportunities across asset classes and individual securities. Asset Advisor is now in the process of launching a second fund that focuses on small and mid-cap corporate bonds.
