Nykredit’s Former Fixed Income Head to Join HP Fonds

Powering Hedge Funds

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – After departing from his role as Head of Fixed Income at Nykredit Asset Management six months ago, Henrik Jørgensen will be joining Danish fixed-income boutique HP Fonds on August 1. With co-founder and CEO Henrik Fournais leading the helm, HP Fonds operates a range of long-only and absolute return hedge fund vehicles, with a focus on Danish government and mortgage bonds.

“On August 1st, I will begin my role as portfolio manager at HP Fonds, which has many years of experience in investing in Danish government and mortgage bonds,” Jørgensen (pictured left) announces on LinkedIn, six months after revealing his departure from Nykredit Asset Management, where he worked for 23 years. “I look forward to becoming part of a company and a team where the focus on Danish bonds is at the center, and where close relationships with customers and short decision-making paths are an integral part of the company’s culture,” he adds. “I look forward to working together and applying my previous experiences in my new surroundings.”

Henrik Jørgensen’s tenure at Nykredit Asset Management spanned over two decades, most recently as Head of Fixed Income alongside his portfolio management responsibilities. Before his 23-year career at Nykredit, Jørgensen held positions at ABN AMRO and Danske Bank within the fixed-income space, and previously worked as an economist for Nasdaq in the early 1990s. “We are looking forward to the cooperation and we believe it to be mutually beneficial for us, Henrik and our clients,” Henrik Fournais (pictured right), the CEO of HP Fonds, comments on the appointment.

HP Fonds’ hedge fund division oversees two leveraged fixed-income strategies across three vehicles. HP Hedge Danish Bonds provides exposure to the Danish government and mortgage bond market. In addition to the Danish mortgage bond market, the more recently launched HP Hedge Fixed Income may also hold positions in short and medium-term European government bonds, the European covered bond market, and corporate bonds predominantly from Danish issuers. HP Hedge Fixed Income SEK serves as a feeder fund for HP Hedge Fixed Income, denominated in Swedish kroner.
