Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – In early 2023, two Swedes previously employed at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) launched an absolute return fund named SilverDome One. As the fund nears its first anniversary, Robin Thörn and Jens Olsson are welcoming Richard Gröttheim, the former CEO of AP7 for 12 years, to its Advisory Board.

“We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our esteemed Advisory Board, Mr. Richard Gröttheim, a distinguished figure with a remarkable track record in wealth creation and a trailblazer in the field of sustainability,” says Jens Olsson, co-manager of SilverDome One alongside Robin Thörn. “He has seen most things in the industry and his deep knowledge and network makes him a perfect addition to our team,” he adds. “We believe that his expertise will not only enhance our strategic vision but also contribute significantly to our commitment to generating value for our clients.”

Jens Olsson

Richard Gröttheim served as CEO of Sweden’s default pension fund for 12 years before retiring in May of last year, marking the end of his 23-year tenure in AP7’s senior management. Gröttheim has been at AP7 since the pension fund began operations in 2000, initially serving as Executive Vice President for over a decade before being appointed CEO in October 2010. Prior to joining AP7, he spent six and a half years as the Head of the Monetary and Foreign Exchange Policy Department at Riksbank.

Gröttheim joins SilverDome’s Advisory Board and will collaborate with existing advisors Hans Danielsson and Dr. Andrew Gray. “The combination of their collective knowledge and diverse backgrounds will provide invaluable insights as we navigate the landscape of asset management,” states Thörn. “With an impressive career spanning over 30 years, Richard brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will undoubtedly strengthen our strategic initiatives and contribute to our ongoing commitment to excellence.”

“Richard’s extensive experience in asset management in general and in creating long-term competitive returns in particular, will certainly benefit all investors in SilverDome One.”

Robin Thörn

Managed by Robin Thörn and Jens Olsson, SilverDome One employs a diversified approach to investing across various asset classes, strategies, countries, and sectors. The duo has put together a set of strategies to construct a balanced portfolio capable of navigating different market environments. This portfolio represents a combination of asset classes and strategies constructed with an alpha component, supported by a risk calibration model designed to mitigate losses in certain market scenarios. “Richard’s extensive experience in asset management in general and in creating long-term competitive returns in particular, will certainly benefit all investors in SilverDome One,” concludes Thörn.
