Danske’s Quant & Overlay Head Joins P+

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Jasper Riis, the Head of the Quant and Overlay team at Danske Bank Asset Management, has joined P+, Pensionskassen for Akademikere as Head of Liquid Investments. The Quant and Overlay team, which Riis headed since October 2020, manages Danske Bank’s quantitative-based equity strategies, equity and derivatives-based hedge fund strategies, and equity index products.

“Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Jasper Riis as Head of Liquid Investments at P+, Pensionskassen for Akademikere,” the team at the Danish pension fund for Academics announced on LinkedIn. This announcement comes several weeks after P+, Pensionskassen for Akademikere also announced the hiring of Michael Dalsgaard as Head of Alternative Investments. Dalsgaard joined P+ from Industriens Pension, where he served as Head of Infrastructure.

Jasper Riis headed the Quant and Overlay team at Danske Bank Asset Management since October 2020. This team is responsible for managing two hedge funds that are part of the Nordic Hedge Index. Danske Bank’s Global Alternative Opportunities Fund seeks to capture capture alternative risk premia across several asset classes, while Danske Invest Global Cross Asset Volatility seeks exposure to volatility risk premia embedded in equities, fixed income, credit and currencies.

Before joining Danske Bank Asset Management, Riis was Head of Fixed Income and Portfolio Implementation at Velliv. He also worked at ATP for almost nine years, first as Portfolio Manager and then as Head of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities. He also worked at Maj Invest, Deutsche Bank, SEB and Jyske Bank. Jasper Riis embarked on his new role at P+, Pensionskassen for Akademikere on March 1.
