Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Long/short equity fund PriorNilsson Idea has been named the “Hedge Fund of the Year 2021” at the annual “Årets Fonder” awards organized by Swedish fund platform Fondmarknaden.se. The fund managed by Torgny Prior and Martin Lindqvist received the same recognition from Fondmarknaden.se back in 2019.

“Our fund PriorNilsson Idea has been named hedge fund of the year 2021 by Fondmarknaden.se.”

“Our fund PriorNilsson Idea has been named hedge fund of the year 2021 by Fondmarknaden.se,” comments Marcus Ehrenpreis, Head of Sales at PriorNilsson Fonder. “We are incredibly proud that our active management creates great results for our customers.” PriorNilsson Idea, which oversees SEK 4.3 billion in assets under management as of the end of December, advanced 25.2 percent in 2021, its best annual performance since 2012. Last year’s advance brings the fund’s annualized return for the past three years to 17.6 percent.

“The award for the Hedge Fund of the Year goes to a player who can proudly add another award to its award shelf after a very successful year,” Fondmarknaden.se comments on PriorNilsson Idea’s recognition. “The management team has delivered a record return seen several years ago and once again reminds us how active management and belief in its best ideas can give good results in both a stable and turbulent market.”

The “Årets Hedgefond” award is one of the ten awards handed out at the annually-held “Årets Fonder” awards, which recognize the best funds among the 1,800 funds available on Fondmarknaden.se. The criteria used to select the best funds across the ten different award categories include returns for 2021, annualized returns over the past 36 months, Sharpe ratios, and sustainability ratings from Morningstar. Last year’s “Hedge Fund of the Year” award at the 2020 “Årets Fonder” event went to multi-strategy hedge fund Nordic Cross Stable Return.
