Arne Hassel Appointed CEO at IPM

Latest Report

This year’s Alternative Fixed Income report from HedgeNordic explores how institutional investors and asset managers are navigating this new reality, balancing yield and resilience amid shifting credit cycles, structural change, and evolving sources of return.

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Arne Hassel (pictured) has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at IPM (Informed Portfolio Management). The Stockholm based systematic investment manager with  nearly $6 bn under management in macro strategies is now likely the largest single manager hedge fund in the Nordic region, by AuM.

Hassel joins IPM from Barclays Bank, where he was Chief Investment Officer for Barclays Investment Solutions. Prior to that he was Head of Investments at Coutts Private Bank. Previous roles include Co-Head of Multi-Asset Allocation at Universities Superannuation Scheme, the largest pension fund in the UK, and Head of Global Currency Management and Head of the Hedge Fund Strategies Group for Europe and Asia at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Commenting on the appointment, Anders Lindell, Chairman of the IPM Board, said:

“We are delighted that Arne is joining our business. He brings close to 30 years of successful international investment and management experience, spanning senior roles in banks, asset management companies, hedge funds and pension funds.”

“IPM provides systematic investment solutions to institutional investors worldwide. Our mission is to help our clients improve their overall portfolio returns by offering diversifying investment strategies. Arne has the ideal background to continue to build the business and take us to the next level.”

The newly appointed CEO Arne Hassel added:

“I am very excited about joining IPM. It is a great opportunity to be able to build on the successes of this highly skilled team and very solid investment management business.”

Arne will start his new role as CEO at IPM at the beginning of July and report directly to the board. The currently acting CEO, Lars Ericsson, will remain in an advisory capacity.
