Announcing the Winners of the 2018 Nordic Hedge Award

Powering Hedge Funds

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – HedgeNordic is pleased to announced the winners of the Nordic Hedge Award 2018. The Nordic Hedge Award is designed to celebrate the best and most promising Nordic hedge funds that manage to maintain high levels of absolute and risk-adjusted returns over a longer period of time.

All winners were selected in a three-step process. First, out of the around 170 hedge funds in the Nordic hedge fund universe, the top five or six funds (we saw very close scores between fifth- and sixth-ranked funds) per award category were shortlisted using a model co-developed by Nordic Business Media and the Swedish House of Finance / Stockholm School of Economics. The model uses several parameters such as both short- and longer-term absolute, relative and risk-adjusted returns, as well as skewness in returns as a measure of downside risk. Second, each member of a judging panel comprised of industry professionals gave scores for each fund. Third, the quantitative and qualitative scores are combined to create the final results and rankings.
