Kina fryser konto för hedgefonden Citadel

Göteborg (Finwire) – Kinesiska myndigheter har fryst ett konto tillhörande den amerikanska hedgefonden Citadel i jakten på vad de anser vara de som står bakom den senaste tiden volatila och nedåtgående marknad. Det skriver Financial Times.

I fredags meddelade kinesiska myndigheter att de fryst sammanlagt 24 konton som en del av en undersökning där högfrekvenshandel var i fokus. I speciell fokus var sådant agerande där orderböcker fylldes utan en ambition att genomföra de affärer som man indikerade att man ville, så kallad spoofing. Citadel har även bekräftat att ett av deras konton stängts och att det användes av en firma under namnet Gousen Futures.

Sedan den kinesiska aktiemarknaden gått upp kraftigt under det senaste året, noterade juli en nedgång om 35 procent. Detta samtidigt som kinesiska myndigheter genom en rad åtgärder, bland annat förbud för storägare att sälja, försökt hejda nedgången. Andra åtgärder har inneburit att den kinesiska staten gått in och köpt aktier, och att man inlett undersökningar mot blankare.
