Hedgefonder är för första gången nettokorta i guldet

Göteborg (Finwire) – Hedgefonderna är för första gången sedan mätningarna under 2006 påbörjades i en större utsträckning positionerade för en nedgång i guldet än en uppgång i detsamma. Det framgår av statistik som Bloomberg tagit del av.

Totalt är hedgefonderna tillsammans nettokorta med 11.345 terminskontrakt, enligt statistik som sträcker sig fram till den 21 juli. Guldpriset har fallit under merparten av dagarna i juli och noterar redan den största nedgången under en och samma månad sedan under 2013.

Enligt flertalet analytiker Bloomberg talat med är det troligt att guldpriset redan i år närmar sig 1.000 dollar per uns.

Under fredagen föll guldpriserna och noterade som lägst ett pris kring 1.077 dollar per uns. Sedan dess har priserna återhämtat sig något och åter klättrat över 1.100-nivån.
