92 procent av kapitalet investerat i hedgefonder koncentrerat hos 11 procent av förvaltarna

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) –  En växande andel av kapital investerat i hedgefonder är koncentrerat till de största förvaltarna. Det skriver Preqin i sin senaste hedge fund spotlight-rapport.

”USD 1 billion Club” inkluderar 570 förvaltare vilka tillsammans utgör elva procent av de totalt 5 122 single manager hedgefond-förvaltare. Dessa 570 förvaltare handhar idag USD 2,78 biljoner vilket motsvarar 92 procent av kapitalet investerat i hedgefonder globalt.

Ungefär 27 procent av dessa förvaltare är inriktade på aktiestrategier medan för de förvaltare med mer än USD 20 biljoner i sina fonder utgör multi-strategifonder ungefär en fjärdedel.

En lång historik är viktig och för de förvaltare med mer än USD 20 biljoner under förvaltning är det genomsnittliga året för etablering 1992. Den vanligaste orten för huvudkontor är New York med London på en andra plats.
