Hedgefondförvaltare spår vikande avkastning

This year’s Alternative Fixed Income report from HedgeNordic explores how institutional investors and asset managers are navigating this new reality, balancing yield and resilience amid shifting credit cycles, structural change, and evolving sources of return.

Stockholm (HedgeNordic.com) – Hedgefonder kommer avkasta mellan 4-6% i år och därmed underprestera fjolåret, detta om man ska tro en nyligen genomförd undersökning gjord av analysföretaget Prequin. Prequin intervjuade under juni månad 150 fondförvaltare och 100 institutionella placerare för att ta reda på vilka utsikter de har inför den andra halvan av 2014. 99% av hedgefondförvaltarna förutspådde att hedgefonder, definierat som Prequin All Hedge Fund Benchmark, skulle avkasta 11% eller mindre under 2014 vilket skulle vara sämre än de 11.69% som hedgefonder avkastade under fjolåret.

53% av fondförvaltarna och 51% av hedgefondinvesterarna trodde att avkastningen för indexet skulle ligga mellan 4-6% för 2014. Per den sista juni hade Prequin All Hedge Fund avkastat 3.68%. Investerarsidan var dock mer positiva till uvecklingen än förvaltarna då 10% av investerarna trodde att industrin skulle avkasta 10% eller mer, motsvarande siffra bland fövaltarna var bara 7%.

Under december 2013 sade 73% av fondfövaltarna att man hade en positiv syn på 2014, 52% sade samma sak i juni inför det andra halvåret. Bland de utmaningar som nämndes i undersökningen återfanns “undvikande av svag avkastning” som topp tre viktigaste punkten av alla förvaltare globalt. I Europa och Nordamerika nämndes reglering och kapitalanskaffning som de stora utmaningarna.
