General Motors på högsta nivåer sedan IPO efter Hayman Capitals intåg

Stockholm (HedgeNordic.com) – Den amerikanska hedgefonden Hayman Capital har tagit en större position i General Motors och säger sig tro på att den amerikanska biltillverkaren kan stiga mer än 40% under de närmaste 12-18 månaderna, efter att U.S. Treasury har sålt ut sin andel i bolaget. Det hävdar en initierad källa, som citeras av Bloomberg.

Hayman Capital är välkänd för att, liksom hedgefond-ikonen John Paulson, innan finanskrisen ha satsat på att den överhettade marknaden för subprime-krediter skulle falla och tjänade därigenom cirka en halv miljard USD.

I en presentation på nätbaserad HVST.com, hävdar Hayman Capitals grundare Kyle Bass att General Motors är en av de bästa investeringsmöjligheterna för närvarande, när väl överhänget i aktien är borta och staten har sålt sina kvarvarande 2% av bolaget.

GM har enligt Reuters seglat upp som en storfavorit på den amerikanska börsen, där ett flertal hedgefonder och investerare har tagit stora positioner, däribland Warren Buffetts Berkeshire Hathaway.

Bloomberg var först med att rapportera om affären, som hävdas vara en av Haymans största investeringar.
